I would like to use style 5 of the blog layout with the Sombra template.  This layout has blog categories and popular tags on the right.  However, when I downloaded the Sombra template, there were no blog .json files to that gave me that layout.

I tried to use Sp Pagebuilder to build a similar layout, but because I am new to Sp Pagebuilder, I am having trouble setting it up properly.

Is there a way to get the missing json file for that blog style or do I need to setup the blog a different way?

thank you for your help,
Leslie

Hello.
Our blogs are not created with SP Page Builder; they are made with com_content and Ublog, which is our own module to take advantage of Joomla's core SEO features and achieve better indexing. In the documentation, read the Content (Ublog) section by visiting the following link: www.unitemplates.com/documentation/jooml...ombra#contentublog14 . There you'll find explanations of everything from creating items to creating menu items, which is what we're interested in here. When you create the menu item, in the Ublog Options >> Blog Style field tab, select Style 5; the other options are at their default settings.

For the sidebar, you only need to create the Smart Search, Articles Categories, and UT Articles Pro modules (you might need to install this in the _extensions package), and the Popular Tags module.

I did look through that Ublog section, but I did not see anything about creating the sidebar.  That's what was confusing me, I said "style" in my ticket above but I actually meant the page layout that is on the Sombra demo for blog style 5.  I'm sorry for the confusion.

For the sidebar, you only need to create the Smart Search, Articles Categories, and UT Articles Pro modules (you might need to install this in the _extensions package), and the Popular Tags module.

I see.  I will purchase the UT Articles Pro and give it a try.

Thank you!
Leslie

Looks like I have it working now.  Just have to clean up the missing intro images and a few other things.

The only thing I am unable to do is completely truncate the introtext.  I have it set to zero in the Ublog settings, but a few letters still display.

Yes, introtext in Joomla is displayed by default; what we added was a truncation. Newer templates have the function to disable introtext by setting it to zero.
We are adding this to our to-do list to implement it in the Sombra template as well. For now, you can disable it with CSS by adding the following to templates/ut_sombra/css/custom.css:
Code:
.ublog.ublog-style-1 .article-introtext{display:none!important;}

oops!  One last small issue with the blog.

I noticed that at the bottom of the blog posts, in the "Related Articles" section, the image of the suggested articles appears, but the title does not.  I do not see any way to modify it in Helix Ultimate or Ublog.

See an example here:

How can I get the title of those articles to show?

Hello.
We honestly don't know why the titles aren't showing up; we don't use that feature in Helix Ultima. To display related articles in the Sombra template, we do the following: Create a module of type Articles Category (category not categories). In the first tab, activate Dynamic Mode, then publish it in the related position. Next, go to the Advanced tab, and in Layout, you can select the style from default to style-6. Because it's dynamic, it only displays articles from the category of the article you're viewing.
