GoodNews Template - Top Bar,Footer Background

I am using the GoodNews Default Template - Header Stlye 6. How do I change the Top Bar and Footer Background color ? In the template defaults I have tried switching to the Custom Style and changing the background color under the Top Bar and Footer section but the color doesn't change.

To change the color within the Helix, go to the Advanced >> SCSS >> tab and enable Compile SCSS to CSS.

Don't forget to disable it when finished, otherwise it will compile every time your users visit, slowing down the page load.
