Barbon: Slowly

Hello. I've updated to the new version 1.7.0 and the site is very slow (new page views take >2 seconds).

Hello.
We've analyzed both URLs and they can't be compared because Cassiopeia loads less data on first view than Barbon. The document load time in Cassiopeia is 1.44 seconds (19kb), while in Barbon it's 2.24 seconds (38.7kb). As you can see, the document itself is twice as large in Barbon.

If you've noticed slower or unusual loading times, you may have left the SCSS-to-CSS compiler enabled. This would slow down the initial load for each new visitor.

I've now installed ut-construction on the test site – also from you. It feels worlds faster – despite the same configuration.

Is there any change for speed boost in Barbon with a new Template Update? I find the template really sluggish at the moment...

Hello.
The difference between the Barbon and Construction templates is that Construction is compatible with Joomla 6 and all the obsolete code has been removed.

To test it, I tried to access the same URL as Barbon in Construction, but it doesn't exist, which means it can't be verified, because a simple change in the configuration could make all the difference.

I assume that when you updated the Barbon template you also updated Joomla. What version do you have installed?

I had already updated Joomla on the live site to the latest version 5.4.2 before i´ve installed the template update to 1.7.0.

My Page Builder is version 6.2.0.

Helix is version 2.2.4.

I suspected that the legacy code in Barbon was slowing down the site.

I hope you can update quickly, as we run a webshop that is barely competitive in its current state.
