How to add menu in left/right position with accordion menu or dropdown sub-menu items?

To have a menu in left/right you have to publish a module of type menu in the left or right positions.

We don't have an accordion menu for left or right, but the native module can be customized using a bit of javascript and css.
There are also accordion-type modules in the Joomla extensions directory, some are free, others are paid, we have taken the time to search and for the demo we can recommend this extensions.joomla.org/extension/cinch-menu/ (we haven't tested it)
